In An Instant

Michael things do happen all the time, in an instant things can change and it's up to us to manage the changes. We've all experienced this thousands if not more times and I'm sure it will continue. As for long standing getting several offers - yes that does happen, in an instant or so it appears!

Even though I routinely expect the unexpected in Hawaii, it took me a few seconds this morning to realize what had happened in my bathroom. Millions of ants in my toilet. That hasn't happened before.

Those in an instant things can be very frightening. Hopefully not serious and hopefully not painful. Some lessons learned is not a bad thing, though.

Life can certainly change in an instant. Ready or not.

The next call comes and iin an instant an offer or a new listing cames to light

Morning Michael.

In the blink of an eye, or faster.  We lost 7 agents in December due to our MLS/NAR dues.  So far this month we hired 5 and one newbie, with another transfer coming in today.  In an instant, stuff happens

So true Michael. As your example of a house not getting offers and then BAM there are 2...We now have 3 full price offers on a condo that didn't get any showings for the past 2 weeks...Go Figure!

Michael, anything can happen in an instant, you are so right.  I had a buyer a few years ago, where the home had been listed for a YEAR.   When I spoke to the listing agent, she said there was another offer coming in, and buyers & I both thought -- that is odd.   The other offer did win, but a very small amount!   

Instants can make changes that last a lifetime.

I am not a huge fan of surprises, Michael.  I try to plan for contingencies so anything popping up in an instant can be handled.

Isn't it interesting how that works?  And, on the flip side, something you think will sell in an instant takes forever.

It is so true, and maybe it's momentum that creates those multiple offers all at once? Who knows, what I do know is that nothing stays the same. 

I love the whimsy of this post and how it is so true. If you are a believer in conciousness and energy, then the universe can be moving people to act, and maybe more than one repsonds so you have several offers where there had been none.

Hi Michael Jacobs -  We all like to be prepared for the unexpected but sometimes "in an instant" - The unexpected will happen to the unprepared for what happened in that moment.

And in "an instant" so many things can occur that can change the course of events in your life. Some are good, some are memorable and some are frightening. All have to be dealt with. No matter how we prepare for them its never quite what you expect.

I'm ever-so thankful for a mindset of 'going with the flow' and being able to swiftly adapt. For being married to a quadriplegic, I never know what new remedies may bring, what the body suddenly does without a moment's notice...the list goes on and on! But, having contingencies and wonderful friends nearby to step in when I need them is a huge reason for my being adaptive...and Ray too! 

I could write a book on curve balls, Michael! Perhaps in retirement??!! 

Michael Jacobs - What I love about this post is there is so much truth! As I was reading what you wrote, my mind wandered to a Professor, former General who taught at the University of Dallas. On the night of 9/11, he started out class in silence. Then, he snapped his fingers and began his lecture. I remember his words clearly: Life can change in a New York minute.
