One of the hottest areas of Phoenix is the South Mountain neighborhood. Until just a few years ago the South Mountain area had a reputation of being an undesirable area. The reputation was earned because most of the South Mountain area was home to farms and warehouses with only pockets of small communities that housed farm workers and lower income families.
But in recent years new home builders took the opportunity to redevelop much of the area bringing upscale housing and shopping to the community. The area now boasts high end gated communities, golf courses, restaurants, and trendy farm markets. Today, South Mountain is shedding its old undesirable reputation.
We all know that real estate is all about location, location, location. With South Mountain only being a few short minutes from downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor airport you cannot ask for a more convenient location.
But close proximity to South Mountain Park is what really makes the neighborhood special. South Mountain Park and Preserve is one of the largest municipal parks in the country. With more than 51 miles of hiking, biking and horse riding trails it appeals to nature lovers and fitness conscious people of all ages. Every day hikers scale the 2330’ mountain to Dobbins Lookout to experience spectacular 360’ views of the City of Phoenix below.
Think you know Phoenix and the South Mountain area? Why not take a second look? You may be surprised to find South Mountain to be a modern, upscale, trendy community.
