My plans this afternoon were to basically read a few blogs, and then go hang out with the family; until I stumbled across Ross Quintana's Blog: "The Homeless in Spokane." Let me be frank, on the one hand I was moved by this blog, but I was embarassed by the feedback that it received from Active Rain members.  So here is what I have decided to do:  I invite you to checkout the link below: http://www.activerain.com/blogsview/352453/The-Homeless-in-Spokane;

Listen, this is not unique to Spokane, Washington.  All across the US there are people experiencing homelessness.  I believe that we the more fortunate must show some humanity.  Many of us make a lot of money, and I am not suggesting that one should squander his hard earned money; but would it be possible to have you become an advocate for the homeless?  Especially in this an election year, it is more likely that our elected officials would listen to our cause and concerns.  Is it possible to have NAR help us become a voice of the homeless?

Kudos to Ross Quintana who has brought the plight of the homeless to this forum. I hope that each and every member of this Active Rain Network take a stand in support of helping our less fortunate.

Blessings!

I think answering the problems of the homeless is a great cause...we contribute a couple times a year to a womens' shelter....women who have become homeless because they have been mistreated and fled with their kids and the clothes on their backs. There are kinds of homelessness I guess..nothing anyone would choose but sometimes, it is the only choice to be safe.

Wow, I hope you still found the time to hang out with your family.

You are on target...this is a nationwide thing. Here in Hawaii it multiplied times 10 due to rising prices in homes...and so did rent. They took their tents and went to live on the beach. Now we have opened more homeless shelters and helping them reintegrate back into society and the working force.

Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, New Mexico are among the most stable real estate markets in the United States. This has caught the attention of the national media. As such, it is incumbent on local Realtors to provide information about our cities for those interested in investing, relocating, or visiting. My goal with this blog is to highlight issues or topics in real estate, and where appropriate apply them to the local markets.
