YouTube Thursdays- A day late, but with thoughts of YOU.

A scheduling conflict for business prevented this post from being submitted on Thursday. However, as promised, here are some ideas to help you determine how to interject yourself into videos if you suffer from stage fright. This week, is part 1.

First of all, think about who you really are, the heart of soul of you. My good friend Alexandra, writes about this concept in one of her recent posts. We think, if you really want to thrive, in all aspects of life, it’s important to journey inward to find your true “me.”

You are unique, don’t forget it. Capitalizing on what makes you different is what gives you an edge. Remember, a big part of who you are should be reflected in your brand. Authenticity is the cornerstone of any effective marketing. In other words, your message must be both genuine and in alignment with the principles of your brand ( your “me”).

According to Social Media Today, 86% of consumers say authenticity is important when deciding what brands to support. Those numbers jump to 90% for millennials. Further, studies report that viewers lose trust when they spot actors, scripted deliveries, and slickly canned productions.

While, organic and genuine videos are the ideal, if you feel awkward on camera, it’s going to show. Therefore, it’s extremely important to tap into your passions as you build a video library. Are you an avid golfer who happens to sell houses? Or maybe, you’re e a top-notch at-home chef. Imagine the fun you’d have featuring “kitchens” in the homes you sell.

Recently, my son, Nate and his wife, asked for my help in choosing an agent to list their house in Bend, Oregon. All of the agents they interviewed had about the same experience and track record.  They asked me to review each one and give my thoughts.

What set the winner apart was his video library featuring local running trails - and his passion for Bend’s outdoor lifestyle. His authencity shined too. His social media sites also reflected his passions for running and nature. Nate is also an avid runner and the rest of us love the outdoors. Enough said.

Next week, tips on how to be build relationships using video. And, ideas for tapping into your passion and personality (your brand), even if you’re camera shy.

Much like Anita Clark 's Facebook Fridays, we encourage you to subscribe to each other's YouTube Channels - and take a minute to "like" or leave a comment. You can also add your own YouTube Channel in the comments below, and ask for subscribers. Be sure to subscribe back though - it's quid pro quo!

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.
