Not So Speechless Sunday: Rex Begonia!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

Recently we learned about Rex Begonia pictured above.  They do flower, however, their flowers are small and unimpressive.  They are grown for their variegated colored leaves. We saw brown with green speckled leaves, dark purple, yellow and rust speckled...the varieties are endless.  They do well indoors with filtered light.

Wishing you all a great Sunday, Enjoy the Super Bowl if you are watching!Cheers!

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron - it looks familiar but  the name is kinda new to me.  Maybe Tyrannosaurus Rex Begnonia.  A bit more prehistoric  because that was my first impression when I saw it.  I can't wait to see that edition of the Garden Club Gazette.

Mother Nature is the quintessential artist.  It takes an elaborate plan born of imagination to paint those colors on leaves!

Joe Pryor what you are seeing are the leaves of the begonia.  The blooms are the size of an African violet, they are very small.  A

Hannah Williams we are so blessed with having flowers around here.  We were out to replenish Quincy's food (his cupboard was almost bare), and I picked up 3 bunches of tulips, and 3 bunches of daffodils...we have so many flowers to delight in and to make us smile in the rain. A

I had begonia's when I was at Mom's. They are a gorgeous flower. Love these leaves and they too remind me of coleus.

Sharon Lee I am familiar with the beautiful begonias that bloom in various colors, I used to have a bowlful each spring that I planted.  These are all about their leaves.  A

Hi Ron and Alexandra- I've seen begonias but I don't think I've ever seen one as majestic as the one you pictured here.

Hi Alexandra... I know very little about begonias, but the one you have pictured is beautiful. Of course, the color is a variation of pink and you know how much I love pink!
