Giving Almost Daily
Over the holidays when I was at a relative’s house for dinner, I noticed that everyone carried their packages and food items over in a box with a very familiar logo on it...the Amazon Smile.
Who doesn’t purchase from Amazon? We order pills, lights, oil for the cars...everything imaginable!
When I heard about Amazon Smile, I immediately signed up so that o.5% of our purchases on eligible items goes to the charity of our choice.
Larry and I chose Give Kids the World, located just outside Orlando in Kissimmee as our charity of choice.
Give Kids the World is the non-profit organization that is instrumental in fulfilling the wishes of foundations like the Make-a-Wish Foundation and other wish-granting organizations.
Children with critical illnesses and their families can spend a week at the Village and their accommodations, meals, theme park admissions and other entertainment are provided for them.
Having visited Give Kids the World, I can tell you that you cannot leave there without a smile on your face for the hard work that the volunteers do and a tug at your heart for the children.
So now, when we order eligible items on Amazon, it is good to know that we are always giving to this wonderful charitable Village.
