The Crossroads Village community is located in Gainesville, VA on the eastern side of Prince William County. The community consists of approximately 450 townhouses and single family homes. For recreation, the community has a swimming pool, tot lots, basketball and tennis courts.
Gainesville, VA had a modest beginning as a changing point for stagecoach horses on the Fauquier & Alexandria Turnpike. It later became the Gainesville stop, named after its first postmaster Thomas Gaines, when the Manassas Gap Railroad came to the area. Over the last few years, the rural landscape of Gainesville, VA has rapidly changed with business opportunities and residential communities springing up just about everywhere. The Virginia Gateway retail space is planned to be the 10th-largest shopping center in the Washington region. Gainesville is conveniently located near all the necessities required for a fast paced life and all the things that allow for you to slow down when needed. It makes for the perfect blend. If you are into history, especially Civil War history, or just a nature lover, you must visit the Manassas Battlefield Park. There are miles of hiking trails and a driving tour. The visitor center has good information on the first and second battles fought on the terrain. For the golfer, there are a large number of excellent golf courses that include Virginia Oaks, Stonewall Golf Club at the Lake Manassas Community, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and many others located throughout Prince William County. A trip to Washington DC is approximately 30 miles away. If commuting is not your thing, the VRE commuter train is located in nearby Manassas for a stress free and traffic free commute to Washington, DC and Northern VA. Those who decide to brave the traffic there is easy access to Interstate 66.
