Natural Remedies for Coughs
I am a big fan of nautural remedies over prescription drugs and luckily I rarely get sick, but the next time I do, I will certainly try these suggestions from Beth Atalay
Natural Remedies for Coughs
I don’t get sick often, as a matter of fact, the last time I was sick with the flu was five years ago. Just like the one I had then, this flu also left me with a cough that’s been keeping me up at night. I personally don’t like to take medicine, I will try natural remedies till I find one that works.
I’m sure there are many home remedies for coughs but here are some that worked for. I hope you’ll never have to give them a try but if you have the need, here they are.
First one is rubbing a generous amount of Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of each foot, then put socks on and go to sleep! I tried it last night and it worked.
The second one may sound weird but it really works. You would need one whole onion and organic natural honey(it calls for granulated sugar but I used honey). Peel and slice the onion, put it in a jar, then cover it with honey, put the lid on and let it sit on the counter overnight. You will see the liquid in the jar. I squeezed one lemon in the morning and have been taking it one tablespoon every 2 hours, this also worked.
During the day, I sip on ginger tea. Not only it tastes great but it stops the coughing as well. Just shred some fresh ginger and boil it in a cup with a few slices of lemon, once it boils, turn off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes. I also put organic raw honey in my cup when ready to drink it.
I wish people would stay home when they're sick or at least wipe where they touch and cover their mouth when coughing. Here's to a healthy February!
