Charlotte Russe to Close Gaithersburg Store at Lakeforest Mall

Charlotte Russe, a women's clothing company with about five hundred stores across the country has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It is reported that they plan to close about 94 of their stores.

There are thirteen Charlotte Russe stores in Maryland and six of them, including the Gaithersburg location at Lakeforest Mall, are scheduled to go out of business. They also plan to close the Frederick store at Francis Scott Key Mall.

They are in a highly competitive segment of the retail market. Sorry to hear that they are closing so many stores and in financial trouble

Never heard of them, must be an East Coast line. I'm always sorry to hear though, when this happens. Can't help but wonder if on-line shopping is impacting a number of brick and mortar stores.

Well, I see they actually originated in San Francisco - so much for that East Coast remark. I must be living under a tree. Well, at least among the trees on a hill in Camas, Washington. Lol.

I think I have seen them somewhere but they never came to Oklahoma to my knowledge.

Brick and mortar stores have been having a hard time of it since on-line shopping has become popular.  I had hoped that clothing and shoe stores would remain viable however, because my experience in buying them on-line has been exceptionally poor.

Hello Roy -the world of retail mimics life as always evolving and that it is rapidly occurring today(these times). Sad but another sign of the times: Store Closing Going Out of Business.

Hello Roy,  I hate to hear about store closings and putting people out of work.  Figure the state of the Union was better!
