This photo of budding chalk artists was taken in Florence, Italy on October 31, 2016. These three young ladies were singularly focused on their work. We loved their concentration. They smiled at our compliments, and returned to their work. This one of the many reasons we enjoy time in Florence. Every street is a surprise of some sort.
Once a year, Sacramento has a "Chalk it Up" festival, featuring sidewalk chalk art. I always enjoy it. However, the charm of the Italian children pictured is so very special.

I especially like the hair bundled up in the front on the two girls heads, the two without the headband. It makes such good sense to keep their hair out of the eyes to allow for creativity and concentration. You captured a mindful moment for these young chalk artists.

Hello Ron and Alexandra Seigel, this simple photo of three precious children tell so much. I truly appreciate it, thank you for sharing. As a young child, I had all sorts of chalk and cherished them, they had their own special little bags and were separated by color. This photo brought back so many good memories.

HI Ron and Alexandra Seigel - What a cute picture. Our trip to Florence was a bust. We were sitting near the back of the bus and it started pouring. We had no umbrellas. I watched those in front of us get soaking wet. My husband told the bus driver to take the rest of us to the hotel which would be the pick up point. He wasn't going to do it until he saw that we were not getting off the bus!

Wow, they are pretty talented! Are they just drawing for fun or is that box behind them there for tips? I can't read what it says in chalk.

When I was a kid, I was lucky to be able to sketch out hopscotch on the sidewalk, no less anything artistic. These young girls have talent.

This was spontaneous, no tips in the box. It is what they wanted to do. I loved their sense of play. A
Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I can understand your experience. Florence is really a walking town, the streets are barely big enough for the tiny cars. I am surprised that the bus was not equipped with umbrellas. A
Hi Ron and Alexandra- now that we're back in Houston, I'll have to find the chalk art festival here!!!! Thanks for the reminder.
Hi Ron and Alexandra, Thanks for sharing this picture of the chalk artists. It's refreshing to see these girls enjoying simple activities.
