Today's Mortgage Rates:
Mortgage rates for Tuesday will be under pressure as a tentative deal to keep the government open was reached. Today's mortgage rates will be slightly worse than yesterday. However both 30 year fixed mortgage rates and 15 year fixed mortgage rates remain near their 2019 lows. February 2019 mortgage rates have been stable for the most part as the bond market remains range bound despite a stronger than expected Employment and ISM report.
Government Shutdown Might Be Avoided:
We're keeping an eye on the developments hwoever it appears a government shutdown might be avoided before Friday's deadline. The biggest issue is the border wall and funding for it. In the deal reached in the Senate and House the government would fund nearly 25% of what the President is asking for. As of this morning there has been no announcement from the President about where he stands with the deal.
