The HBO Go App is Not Available for All LG Smart TVs

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

My lifestyle has not provided me with a reason before now to give even a remote thought to watching HBO shows or movies through mobile devices on the HBO Go App. In fact, when the guy at the Apple Store explained how Apple TV worked, I could not imagine, with the exception of the Cuba video I created, that I would ever need to stream anything from my laptop or iPhone to my TV.

But then a situation popped up in which I needed to do exactly that. Some LG TVs can download the HBO Go App, but not all. Surprisingly, my little $300 Samsung could handle it but not my enormously expensive LG OLED.

Throughout these efforts, I learned quite a bit about casting. I mean, who knew? You guys probably but not old people like me.

One option I did not try but might have worked was to sign up for a free 7-day trial through Amazon Prime for HBO, and maybe it would have allowed me to view through the HBO Go App since I am already a member. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: No HBO App for my LG OLED Smart TV.

When I worked at the software company, we often spoke about the organization that worked to have internet and tech entities talk with one another, so users would have intutive products that didn't have to navidgate through confusion to make work.  Alas, I can't remember the name for it.  If I do, I may write a post about it.  It seems it has been abandoned by those creating products we use today.

Myrl Jeffcoat Apple products are synched through iCloud so all data, books and music that is on my phone, or my iPad or any of my computers is identical.  And, if I had stinkin Apple TV, I could view everything on my television.

Elizabeth, don't have any Apple products, and don't have any premium channels.  I bought a very large TV for my media room, but haven't used all the features yet.  Good luck with this!

Well, this just gives me a headache. I let Bernie handle these situations for us - he seems to have an intuitive knack for figuring tech things out.  I'd much rather be out in the yard on our lawn tractor...that's a machine I understand. Lol.

Joan Cox No Game of Thrones for you, then, I take it. I watch too many shows on HBO not to have it.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I imagine riding a lawn tractor would  be fun as long as you didn't have to, like, mow or anything.

You are right, never seen Game of Thrones, heard of it .....  Not really much of a TV watcher.
