My lifestyle has not provided me with a reason before now to give even a remote thought to watching HBO shows or movies through mobile devices on the HBO Go App. In fact, when the guy at the Apple Store explained how Apple TV worked, I could not imagine, with the exception of the Cuba video I created, that I would ever need to stream anything from my laptop or iPhone to my TV.
But then a situation popped up in which I needed to do exactly that. Some LG TVs can download the HBO Go App, but not all. Surprisingly, my little $300 Samsung could handle it but not my enormously expensive LG OLED.
Throughout these efforts, I learned quite a bit about casting. I mean, who knew? You guys probably but not old people like me.
One option I did not try but might have worked was to sign up for a free 7-day trial through Amazon Prime for HBO, and maybe it would have allowed me to view through the HBO Go App since I am already a member.
