She's the co-founder of Web Squeeze- a site that is loaded with helpful information.

She's seen her share of stock photography.

Every web designer/blogger/self promoter has stumbled through their share of these sites as well... but she's decided to share.

Here's her list of 40 Free Stock Photo Sites.

Stock Photography can dress up your site in ways that words alone can not.

Find a photo you like? You can't just throw it into your blog. You need to either pay for it (if that's allowed), receive permission to use it, or go to a free site, read the terms of service and comply.

Free stock photography websites help you look like the professional sites without the expense.

Her list of sites all allow for free commercial usage. Be sure to check the terms of usage before posting photos.

Chuck - thanks for the link to this extremely valuable resource. I can't believe there are so many free stock photo sites.

Jackie- I was surprised as well... several of my favorites are there but I was taken aback by the quantity.

Chuck, terrific! I'll definitely have to take a look through some of these sites. One of my passions in blogging is adding the appropriate photos and pictures to jazz up the posts.

Michael- Yes... a real gem of a find!

Kent- I'll be all over these sites... that's for sure.

Chuck- You really found a winner here. I would like to remind everyone over and over again to check the terms of use, especially on free sites. Come back and check again down the road as many terms can change. Imagechef was one we all loved to use but they changed their terms of service to prohibit real estate agents from using their images on our blogs and sites.

Katerina- Your reminder is a good one... the terms of service section is essential. I have no problem with people earning money or protecting their content... this section will classify what's protected and what's not.

Susie- I haven't but I will. Of course I could try to be like you and take my own pictures- but I'll need to take dozens of classes to approach your skill level.

Morning Chuck, that's a really nice & convenient compiliation of photo resources, as long as people pay attention to your last sentence "Be sure to check the terms of usage before posting photos"...

Sometimes the terms of use/disclaimer restricts commercial use. Thx for adding this to the group, great find!

thanks for the tip -- always looking for new ways. I also use Google Images alot to get ideas and then will go to sites like these to get a photo I can use and not be afraid of violating any copywrites.
