The Greek God of Winter is visiting Sedona!

A Snowy Sedona February!

 ~ ~ ~

Greek God of Winter

The Greek god Boreas, has decided to visit Sedona. He must have seen some of the pictures of the red rocks covered in snow and decided to take a mini vacation right smack dab in Sedona in Northern Arizona! I have been waiting for Persephone who is the Greek goddess of spring.  Oh! If you find that ground hog Phil...let him know I got his number!

The Weather Services Are Right On....So Far

We have been monitoring the weather for a couple of days now. The weather services have said that the high country which includes Sedona could get 5 to 9 inches of snow and the temps won't even hit 40º. Normally, we can go a long time without hitting high temps this low. In 2016, there were 18 days of 70º+ weather with a high of 80º. There is a big difference this year.

The Snow Stopped For Two Hours

The sun came out just long enough to evaporate all the snow on the pavement. But now the snow has started once again.  We are on the north side of 4 inches and rising. It will be interesting how the rest of this storm plays out.

A Low of 4º On Wednesday

We live in an area of a slight incline but both my car and my husband have 4 wheel drive.  My husband has a rock climbing jeep. That vehicle can go anywhere. I am not worried about the roads. The forecast shows clearing skies for Tuesday and Wednesday but that means super cold lows of 11º and 4º! There will be more snow on Thursday and Friday.

Sheri,

I think we may have sent him your way...The winds have been blowing leaving blue skies with ski jacket weather.

We actually have a windchill factor here with winds cooling the temps down to 7 degrees below the 55 predicted as the high

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - Fortunately, I didn't have to hit the road today. But tomorrow I will be out all day. I hope we can send Boreas home to Greece...soon! LOL

Hi Grant Schneider - Before I got into real estate, we would spend a month on Maui.  This is the time we would be gone. We came back one year and it felt like we were entering into a freezer. It is a shock leaving that gorgeous winter weather.

Morning Sheri.

So I take it I shouldn't complain about our high today of 36º and tomorrow a high of 42.

Hi Lottie Kendall - Our winter storms come from your direction. Around July they switch to the south.

HI James Dray - Yesterday we hit 41º but my car's battery froze!  I had to call AAA to get a jump.  Probably a good thing because my office cancelled the morning weekly meeting because of an icey parking lot. It is sloped!

OH MY Sheri, that is a lot for your town!   We got some over the last couple of days, more on Friday - but think the most will be 3".  Yesterday was only near 20.

Hi Michael Jacobs - It comes in hany for certain properties in rural areas. My husband used to take guests for red rock jeep drives but not so much anymore. This pic is Broken Arrow Trail - many westerns were made in this area.

Hi Gabe Sanders - thank you but a few days here and there of cold or snowy weather is fine. However, it is so cold, I had problems starting my car.  I bought a portable battery that can give me a quick jump so all is well!

Hi Sheri:

Seems like lots of folks are having more snow and cold than usual. While I am NOT a snow fan I have to admit I sure enjoy seeing the photos of the red rocks with snow on them...brings back memories of a fun visit one December a few years ago!
