Since 1995, the Hula Hut has been overlooking beautiful Lake Austin. This is traditional Tex-Mex cuisine with a Polynesian twist that all culminates into the finest “Tiki-Mex” cuisine. You'll have a great time relaxing to music ranging from traditional Hawaiian to surf rock in any of their 3 bars. Enjoy a Mango Margarita and dive into their lavish PuPu Platters. The restaurant is decked out with tiki torches, bamboo walls, grass-thatched bars and thousands of colored lights. If there happens to be a wait for dinner spend some time at the Palapa bar while you're waiting with one of their specialty drinks and watch as the sun sets over the shores of Lake Austin...and relax it’s always island time at the Hula Hut.
A sampling of their menu: On the Snacks menu - there's Palm Tree Hugger Nachos - crisp corn tortillas topped with refried beans, carrots, spinach, zucchini, red bell peppers, mushrooms, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo & jalapeños...and...their award winning Kawaikini Stuffed Avocado with Hass avocados filled with roasted chicken, green onions, cilantro,cheese & green chiles then roasted in panko & green chile spices, lightly fried and served on Hatch green chile & queso blanco sauces. On the Five-O Fajitas menu there's Shiner Bock grilled fajitas - marinated, charbroiled & tossed with green onions & bell peppers...and...North Shore veggie fajitas with zucchini, red bell peppers, carrots, yellow squash & mushrooms sautéed in Polynesian Plum sauce & topped with sunflower sprouts. On the Pipeline Enchilada menu there's Roasted Chicken Pipeline Enchilada with roasted chicken breast & Monterey Jack cheese rolled in fresh corn tortillas topped with queso blanco sauce and served with rice & refried beans...and...the Fajita Beef Pipeline Enchilada with grilled fajita steak & Monterey jack & cheddar cheeses rolled in fresh corn tortillas and topped with Guajillo sauce & served with rice and refried beans. For dessert, try the Hula Hut Dessert Nachos - cinnamon sugar dusted crispas topped with fresh fruit, chocolate, caramel and fresh whipped cream...or...the Flan - caramel custard served on an almond praline-laced cookie & topped with caramel sauce.
