Well there is nothing more heartbreaking for anyone who has pets is when the little creatures stop eating. We as their caregivers get nervous and try every type of food and you can tell they are hungry but are not touching the food. What to do? As veteran Pet Caregivers, we knew the answer but wanted to check after all the decision should come from the Vet or who ever.
The good news was, try to boil chicken or ground beef and talk to us tomorrow. Well off I went to the Grocery Store, Chicken Breasts and good quality Ground Beef and home I went. Nurse Jill was keeping an eye on Carmen.
As I was boiling the Ground Beef Carmen came out from her bedroom and started hanging out in the kitchen. By the time I boiled the chicken breast I could tell she was hungry.
So I tested it with the kibble and the canned food. The result was yes I am hungry but I am not eating it.
Gratefully Diane was on her way home from work so I wanted her to feed Carmen and see how she reacts to the food.
So chicken breast it was mixed in with some good nutritious wet food. Hurray, a success for tonight!
