A Journal is a Sure Sign of a Professional

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services 607851

North Dakota is one of a FEW States that does not require a Notary to keep a Journal. A professional keeps a Journal, it's a sure sign that you are dealing with a Pro who wants to protect both you and him/her self.

A Notary Journal is required in most States. In North Dakota a Journal is not required but the use of a Journal is certainly the mark of a PROFESSIONAL Notary Public. The Journal is further evidence of when and that you indeed had your document notarized. If your transaction should end up in court the Notary's Journal may be used in court as proof that your document was indeed signed and signed on the date in question. If your Notary doesn't use a Journal they are NOT as professional as they can be. At Ward County / Minot Notary Services we protect YOU with the use of a Notaries Journal.

Good afternoon Bob - I really didn’t know that. I don’t think is required in New York.

Thank you Mary Yonkers . All is well in North Dakota but we could use some sign of spring with a little warmer weather.

I think many ND notaries are just lazy Lise Howe being they don't have to they don't bother.

Grant Schneider I look at it as another way to CYA. Nothing worse then ending up in court with only he said, she said as evidence. I like written proof that I did my job and the client acknowledged it with their signature.

Bob,

I have seen journals here last time we used a notary.  Even if you don't have to, I think it is a good idea to keep tabs.  A

Funny should mention this, Bob... I was just speaking to a "trevelling" notary about 30 minutes ago who was telling me why she keeps a journal.

I can't recall a time where a notary was used in one of my transactions, that they didn't have a journal.  They usually, note name, address, etc., in addition to driver license number, among other things.  I didn't realize they didn't have to.  It may vary from state to state, however.

It does vary by State Myrl Jeffcoat and North Dakota is one of a few States that does not require a journal.
