In early May, I wrote a post about a first for me: mushrooms growing INSIDE one of my listings. In case you missed the story and the tell tale photos, you can read about it HERE.

Now, here it is in early June and I have another first: clients reading MLS data sheets by flash light!

Missouri has had record setting rains this past Spring. The trees are full, the flowers plentiful, the grass thick and lush.

rain

For the most part, the rain has come at night. But today was the exception. We started off the day cloudy and it remained so, finally giving into rain about 1 pm. The storm brought high winds, dark skies and sheets of rain. For only the third time since July 2003, we lost power at our office.

One of my agents, Audrey, was scheduled to meet with clients driving in from Illinois. We weren't sure if they'd still want to look at property this afternoon after driving in the rain or if they would like to retire early to their hotel for some rest before looking at property tomorrow. The client was excited, not letting the rain dampen their mood. They were ready to GO! They wanted to look at the first property on their list.

Fortunately, Audrey had printed off the data sheets earlier in the day. Many were based on a list from the client. Others Audrey added based on their requirements.

I could only laugh as Audrey, Mr. & Mrs. Client, the client's daughter and the client's son gathered around our front windows, using what little light they could from outside and holding the flash light just so!

The rain has stopped now. Sunny blue coats the sky.

I'm left wondering what is next - mushrooms, flashlights, oh my!

Debbie, It couldn't have been much fun for you today.  We have been getting our share of really heavy rains this year as well....and COOL.  What a shame.

Hi Debbie, I wish you all would share some of your rain.  My mom lives in MO.  She was in town for my son's graduation and looked at me like I was crazy when I wished that we could get some rain.

I like your picture and it sounds like any broker would love to have Audrey working in their office.

Mushroom, flashlights, oh MY - I don't think that we'd hear that line in the Wizzard. Good that you are getting some rain. We got some over the weekend and it was a welcomed relief.

Carole -  Isn't this weather crazy? We went from the 60's one day to the 90's today! I'll send some of this warm weather your way <G>

Sondra - I can only imagine the look you got from your Mom! All of Missouri has recieved lots of rain - we can practically watch our grass grow! I love the splash of color it's brought - and yes, I wish I could clone Audrey!

Michael -  This is Missouri's version of the Wizard of Oz! Forget that Kansas stuff! <G>

Did I tell you - my mushroom factory closed last week.

Debbie, I could only laugh when I read your comment.  Your imagination is absolutely correct.  She ended up showing me some pictures of a friend's place that flooded.  Afterward the water receded,  grass and debris was stuck to all four wires of a barbed wire fence.  That picture kind of put things in perspective for me.    On the other hand, we really could use some rain here.

mushrooms, flashlights, lions and tigers, oh my... :)

Sorry to hear you're getting rained on... those are not the kind of raindrops we want to see, huh?  I found this tonight... not sure if they have adult sizes, but it might be something to look into... if you don't mind looking like a walking fire hydrant/mushroom head.

Hi Debbie - How about the rest of the story.............DID THEY BUY!!!  That had to be very serious buyers.  Great story - love the picture :-)

Our area is full of surprises right now.  I watch the weather just to see if the day will be rain, tornados or sun!

Gail -

Yes, a local business man bought the building. He's already put a tarp on the roof, putting the mushroom factory out of business!

Kay -

You are so right - the weather is a daily surprise! Tonight I finally turned off my weather radio. I was tired of hearing it!

Jesse -  I wonder if I can buy these in bulk? Perhaps add the AR logo?

UPDATE: Our flashlight clients closed on their new home today! A well maintained older farm house, 12 acres, out buildings and fenced  - and on the blacktop!
