The “Pruett’s Pig Powder” thermometer tells us that it is +12ºF, our original-equipment eyeballs tell us it is cloudy, and what little exposed skin we have tells us it feels like about +1ºF, as we arrive this fine St. Paul, Minnesota morning at Boomers’ back porch. And as usual, the irrepressible Daisy-dog greets us with tail all-a-waggin’.
This morning, as with every morning, it seems, the coffee-carafe is full of freshly-brewed, organically & shade-grown, fair trade, today’s blend-of-the-day French-roast coffee. Alongside the carafe are our “Custom Codger™ Collectible Mugs (January edition—check out the new March edition), just waiting to be filled with the synapse-starting brew.
Minnesota weather is about to—may be about to change—to spring. While this is a pleasant thought, it will make for a lot of work for us. All our daily graphics have to be changed to reflect the change of seasons—believe it or not—we DON’T wear parkas for 3/4ths of the year.
To accomplish this—we need to remove not only our parkas, but the snow. I sounds easy, but the drawings are done in layers. The graphic has to be carefully taken apart by “ungrouping” it, saving the various pieces and replacing & redrawing most of our caricature parts, and then reassembling the graphic. After that print the MS Word drawing into Adobe Acrobat Distiller, saving that as a j-peg, and then manipulating the j-peg in PhotoShop to create the final graphic. It is fun—but time consuming.
This is it—all we have to entertain you this morning. Oh, and the following photo taken through-the-windshield this past Sunday:

The Coffee’s on, the tea is ready—so enjoy your visit!
Medford Ambrose & Jay Merton
Good Morning, Jay, Medford and Daisy! Beautiful blue sky in your windshield photo.
The kids really like cyber Dasiy-dog. In all your "un-grouping" and reasembly please don't lose her. ;o)
