          “Getting Permission”

Hi Joe,

A conversation or email is fine. Looking to see if you could help estimate what my husband and I could afford for a mortgage. Just got married last August and looking to buy this spring in the Boston area. Just found your company online from blogs that you have shared. 617 XXX-XXXX

When prospective clients communicate through my website I respond in this manner.

Thank you for your mortgage inquiry. I then ask a couple of questions:

How did you happen to get onto my website?

What is the best way for us to communicate, phone or email?

Just because someone stops by a website doesn’t mean you will ever hear from them again but asking permission on how they would prefer to communicate increases the odds.

Asking permission is such a powerful way of communication. I think it stops people in their tracks and makes them listen to what comes next

That makes a lot of sense!!!

Morning Joe.

I have an agent who wants to text with long questions etc..  We can have any issues taken care of in a one minute call, instead of five minutes of texting.  Sigh
