Awesome demonstration Patrick! I already Twitter, am on MySpace, Facebook, and Blooger but I will join FriendFeed since 80% of home buyers find their homes online!

That was very informational. I have set up a twitter account but to be quite honest have not used it. I'm not in to text messanging; is there another use for Twitter?
Thank you Patrick, I am glad to say I am doing all that and it works. It's really not that hard to twitter or read the friend feed for those wondering. Takes just minutes a day!
@Christine - you get the fact that the act of participating in social media in itself augments your online presence for marketing purposes... I'm constantly surprised that 95+% or your colleagues don't seem to understand this.
@kk - hi Kristal... what I didn't fully discuss in the presentation is the impact that mainstream media will play in real estate marketing as they start pushing their readership into Social Media 2.0 channels (like Twitter and Friendfeed). To be relevant as news sources, MSM will begin to push readers to content providers through Twitter alerts and other means.
@Marchel - I'm also small talk challenged but I've found that Tweeting interesting links fits my style
FriendFeed is about the only social media app that I haven't looked at yet. But seeing it described as "the universal social media application" gives me a lot of incentive. Here's a question, Pat. Do you know of any way to easily combine my Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter connections into one database so I can build one social media master list? I know if I ask this enough, one day the answer will magically appear in a tweet!
John, right now Facebook is protecting a walled garden of Facebook apps and is not addressed at Friendfeed. Unfortunately all connections/friends/etc. must be siloed in various applications despite the fact that we all have similar connections within the RE.net. I don't see this changing because every new app must ramp up by collecting connections. I think the easiest way to deal with connections is to simply follow, befriend, connect, or otherwise accept anyone interested in the connection (it's just clicking "yes""yes", etc.). So far, nobody has bothered me and my time spent on social networks is minimal.
Pat, I use friend feed, didn't know about the rooms, will check it out. I check it in the morning to see what I missed out on, with the west coast twitters.
Thanks for the great info. I have been twittering but not everyday. I am guessing it is best to have it open all day to try to keep up with it as you do other work on the computer?
Diane, best to use Twhirl.org or other Twitter client to monitor Twitter feeds... Twittering shouldn't take up too much time in your day (unless you become an addict)... I use it to monitor new ideas and share information, with an occasional conversation.
