Should I go to Open Houses as a Home Buyer?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with HomeWay Realty PB00083374

As the weather warms up and we approach Spring, home buyers have been asking me whether they should go to open houses in Central Arkansas. In reality, there is no right or wrong answer. If you as a home buyer plan on attending an open house, just let me know! I will either go with you or provide you with some of my open house “guest passes.”

The reason I do this is to protect you as a buyer. See, the Realtor or home owner that is sitting at that open house has the seller’s best interests in mind. They may be trained to ask you questions to prompt you to talk about your budget or other things that can hurt your negotiating power. By taking my guest passes or me with you as your Little Rock Realtor, you will not need to provide the open house host with any personal contact information or answer any questions!

Short, sweet and on the mark Nicole. My experience is that generally buyers know little about representation and some don't care to know. Of course, there are exceptions.

I would read the room and see where it goes and not really have any expectations.
