Active Rainers Do Respond: An Update to the Postcard Project
Last month, I wrote a blog looking for assistance from ActiveRain Members on behalf of my grandson, Raphael and his class.
Calling All Active-Rainers Need Some Help For A School Project
The project is to get as many postcards as possible from across the country, each post marked from that state and each to have 2 significant facts about that state.
The response has been great and even touching as the cards get read and appreciated by Raphael and the rest of our family.
The problem for many was not the time to get a postcard, but just finding one. For some people it was more a matter of knowing what a non-business postcard looked like. A larger issue for many is finding a place that would sell a postcard. This generated a second blog to attempt to assist.
Where Can I Find A Post Card and What is It?
The list below are the states that are covered for receipt of postcards that should satisfy the class criteria. There are more cards promised yet, based on the comments left on my previous posts. Hopefully this blog post will jog a few members to find a card and send it within the next few weeks.
The project is to end in early May, so help is still needed.
Arizona*
California
Connecticut
Delaware
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Maine
Massachusetts
Michigan
New Hampshire
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Wyoming
Alaska is promised, as is Oregon, Utah and Texas. Arizona has an * as it was sent in a letter with some additional info as well as a very personal note written to Raphael. All good, except the postmark was on the envelope and not on the postcard. We received a card from Maryland but it can't be used for the project as it as a business card.
The state of New Mexico is important to Raphael as it was the state he selected for a special report. Getting a postcard from this state would have high meaning for him.
We so thank all those that have responded so far and a heartfelt thank you for those that will still get a card off to us.
The address for the cards is:
