If Forest Gump were to "Google" for information about epic long distance running, championship college football, shrimp boating, the early days of Apple commuters, the creation of "smiley faces", championship ping-pong, or the origins of John Lennon's "Imagine", he might be perplexed to learn that he himself was inextricably woven into many of the stories and "responsible" for a lot of the history behind those stories.

He would be perplexed because, to him, it all just happened as a result of his living life fully, humbly and "ridiculously" optimistically----some might even say "blindly."
But Forest was real.
Forest "happened."
When "I" Google for information about something----I don't expect to find myself as the expert of very many things---and even then only when the search includes my own name. Blogging on ActiveRain tends to expand our visibility on the internet to such an extent that even the most innocent of searches returns huge lists of information sources----often including our very own blogs and websites.

A while back I was doing a blog about Moles in lawns. When I Googled "getting rid of moles," I was surprised to see my own website and sample report on the list----as places to find out about getting rid of Moles. I can assure you that what I know about moles is perhaps worthy of page 192 on Google----certainly not page one. I would be more likely to know about how to deal with the mole on my nose---or at least how to remove it from my pictures.
On a recent Google search of "getting rid of moles," my website is nowhere to be found---at least on the first 20 pages. When I added-in "Charles Buell Inspections" I was listed in the top 7 spaces. At least I am only an "expert" in my own "small world" now.
Life truly is, as Forest says, "Like a box of chocolates----you never know what you are going to get."

PS, for those of you that are new to my blog (or for some other "unexplained" reason have never noticed)
all pictures and smiley-face inserts (emoticons) (when I use them) have messages that show up when you point at them with your cursor.

Charles, this blog is so beautifully laid out. Not too many bells and whistles. Just simple and beautiful. You've come a long way, baby! Now I need to follow with some beautification on my blog. Good content too. I liked that movie!
