Tracks in the Snow

Stump with paw printsWith the extremely cold winter we've experienced this year I have not been able (or desired to) get out and do a photo walk like I enjoy doing in the summer and fall of the year.

My focus on yesterdays walk was the tracks left in the snow. I focused was on bunny and squirrel tracks and mostly in my own yard and alley driveway. It seems evident that the bunny has taken up residency underneath my utility trailer and my little camper.

Bird feeders

In under the front

Out the other side

The Bunny lounge

I did my best to show only critter footprints here. I don't believe there are any human footprints here unless there are some at the squirrel feeding station.

Could happen Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI but if I'm going to harvest one I'd prefer to get one of those big Jacks so it could feed the whole family. The little ones around the house would hardly make a decent sandwich.

Sounds like you've got a great place there Marte Cliff . I'd love to have a hobby farm or a least a few acres.

Hannah Williams we were spared the blizzard that hit Bismarck ND and MLPS MN on Saturday. We did have a couple of storms this year but the worst of our winter was that January and February were both 20 degrees colder then the 500 year average.

Bob, there are a lot of wildlife that hang around without seeing them.  Living in the country we see many more than you do

After a snowfall is a great time to see tracks of those who passed through overnight. Usually we have teeny weeny bird tracks - it looks like they hop under our cars. And then of course lots of deer tracks.

Maybe last month James Dray but now that I see the light at the end of the wintery tunnel I'm going to wait it out.

Kat Palmiotti our bunny likes to hide under the car as well as the birds. I'm assuming they go there when the engine is still warm.

I'm sitting here smiling.  Recently, my son-in-law discovered shoe tracks in the snow outside my 15 year old granddaughter's window. He worried someone may have been trying to kidnap her.  So, what does he do? He leashes up their little wire haired terrier, and the two set out to track those footprints.  It was near dawn, and the pair ended up in front of the house belonging to a boy who is my granddaughter's classmate.  After relief set in, my granddaughter was told that any evening visitors needed to come to the front door!

It sounds like she knew he was there which is a good thing Myrl Jeffcoat as opposed to a window peeker.

I don't know what's up with that Sheila Anderson . I see them and from the comments at least 2 others specifically refer to them. I will visit AR in the incognito browsing mode and see if they still show up.

Hi Bob "RealMan" Timm, I don't get to see snow much, except for the pictures so these photos are a treat for me. Glad those little creatures were able to find a safe, warmer spot.

I wish I would see the actual bunnies more often Will Hamm instead of just their tracks but they are of course wild and not tame rabbits.

I do my best to keep them safe Beth Atalay but on occasion a ferrel cat will wander into the neighborhood. I have set up traps for those cats and when I catch them I relocate them.
