A Turkey Kind of Day

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Referral Group Incorporated

They are here everyday. When the weather is particularly brutal they move around a lot and then seem to find a place to cluster together. A few days ago they were busy running from their normal spot to my side of the street. There were probably a dozen or more and they were really booking so I was only able to catch these two. It is warmer today so they are busy across the street but I thought I would share these two today.

I often enjoy visiting the Wild Turkeys that live along our American River Parkway.  I live in a sidewalks, curbs, gutters environment.  But, a mere couple blocks away is the Parkway and all sorts of wildlife!

How large is your lot, Sheila? I just find it so bizarre that you have TURKEYS! That is just so cool and I can imagine that they're huddling together too - they have to huddle to stay warm, don't they?!

Hi Debe. My lot is only 1/2 acre but is surrounded by neighbors on either side than have three acres. It works really well for me. TY     Sheila

Morning Sheila.

While we have turkeys in the town just north of where we live, we rarely see them.

Sheila Anderson - That is something I never saw in my backyard, here in TX or other places I lived. I have a feeling, they were looking for food. I wouldn't even know what to feed them! Do they generally travel in pairs? I am no turkey expert.

Your winter has been very brutal for all living things on earth. I hope the weather begins to improve day by day.

Hello again Patricia. Since moving here and fencing my rear yard they generally stay across the street where they live and are fed. There are a couple dozen here and they are nasty. TY     Sheila
