Inspirational Post for 3/16/19

"When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature

itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons

retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition

of winter, but then winter, will be forced to relent, once again,

to the beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring."

--- Madeline M Kunin

SPRING & LOVE IS IN THE AIR

The humming of the lawnmowers and weed eaters have returned because Spring has truly arrived in Flower Mound. I love flowers and spring. I have expressed that numerous times on ActiveRain and in letter writings to family and friends long before I started blogging. My favorite thing to do in spring, summer, and fall is to plant and make a garden party for things that fly like butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, and birds. Actually, when I started my blog on ActiveRain, I posted many photos of flowers because it is what I always did, take photos of flowers and plants outdoors ever since I received my first camera when I was about seven or eight years old.

KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLORS

I first used the term spring is like a kaleidoscope of colors on ActiveRain early on when I began to blog. It was a word I came up with long before I was a blogger. The truth is, it was how I saw the world as a child. I wrote in my journals and letters to friends, spring is like a  kaleidoscope of colors, and I frequently used that expression since my beginnings here on ActiveRain. The truth is, it is my favorite description of spring that started long before I expressed my thoughts, words, and photographs to the general public.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Spring has always been my favorite season. Perhaps it is because I was a spring baby and my parents always celebrated their wedding anniversary on March 19th. I recall their happiness, the flowers my father always delivered to my mother, their kisses and love for each other. I remember my baby sister being born on March 25th and the love that permeated in our home when she was born. And how could I forget sex education seeing my dog in heat and discovering puppies! When it is spring, love is in the air!

SPRING IS A GREAT TIME TO FALL IN LOVE

AND START NEW BEGINNINGS, WHETHER

THAT IS WITH A NEW HOME, HAVING KIDS,

OR EVEN PUPPIES!

Hello Patricia - even without the birds and the bees, neither flora or fauna - we can make each day special when that is our goal.  That said, there is definitely something special as Spring approaches and not just for frolicking canines either.

We even have a taste of spring with sunshine and temps this afternoon around 60 or better. We are itching to get outside. Your post is beautiful - as usual, and conjurs up beautiful spring thoughts.

Michael Jacobs - You speak the truth. No, I don't see frolicking canines anymore. When it comes to dogs, our Society has implemented pet ordinances. The last time I saw it happen was in my own backyard when my sweet girl Mindy, a mixed breed got tangled up with the mean white German Shephard next door. Well... what can I say? My kids got their sex education at a very early age too and we really, really did love the mix of 9 different looking puppies.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - The weather has taken a lot of focus off politics this winter, hasn't it? My heart goes out to all those, especially in Minnesota. I wonder how William Feela is doing?

I recently met a young girl at an apartment complex while helping a client find an apartment. We were in the go-cart that they take around the complex and she mentioned, she just moved back to TX from Seattle. Immediately, I thought of you and asked her about the weather and did she like Washington. She said, what I usually hear from you. The weather can be wet and rainy but it always brings joy. She described the trees and landscaping and I watched her stress-free face as it brought back happy memories.

Debb - I wanted to personally say thank you. You have always been a classy lady, never arrogant, always kind. You write the best blog posts and create the best videos too. Whether you share stories about Mac, your family, multi-generational living, the housing market, or a babbling brook, you always make me happy to read your blog posts.

Aw, Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP What a kind thing to say.  Just got back in from pulling a bunch of weeds. Always makes me laugh to see how well they grow regardless of the weather. Darn strong and stubborn weeds. Oh well, I gave them a run for their money...less to pull tomorrow.

And yes, it is beautiful around here. Lots and lots of green. I'm sure Texas is gorgeous too - hope to see of those fields of wildflowers one day.  Have a wonderful afternoon/evening. D

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - Your comments back to me was very sweet and deeply appreciated.

In the garden and lawn, I certainly have my work cut out for me. If only the battle of the weeds could be won, but then again, if it was over, I'm sure something else might pop up in its place. I try to convince myself it is good exercise but I am always exhausted because it never ends!

I can't believe it is already St Patrick's Day - green will be on everyone's mind! Happy St Patrick's Day to you and your family! May the luck of the Irish be with you always.

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - Your post is getting me ready for spring. My favorite time is when the quail come back.  Hearing all the coo-coos and watching the little one parade behind the mom while the dad watches from above always is a wonderful spring tradition to observe. Spring is coming.

I will have to take some new pics - this is 12 years ago! Quail Family

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® - Thank you for sharing photos of the Quail family! I think they must have a greater purpose here on earth because they are so unique and family oriented. I also find myself being relaxed when I listen to them.

Happy Spring! Happy St. Paddy's Day! May you always be happy!

William Feela - You have been on my mind a lot and it is really good of you to stop by for a visit. Thank you!

I am truly hoping and praying you don't get more snow up there and you do get lots of sunshine without serious flooding. If anyone deserves spring it is you and all the people in Minnesota!

Be safe!  Be warm! Be happy when you start to see signs of spring! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Endre Barath, Jr. - Our weather hasn't been consistent with previous winter and spring either. But we take what we can get and hope we always have a garden. It seems as though there is crazy weather all over and not just in the United States!

I hope you see plenty of green now that it is St. Patrick's Day. And may you have the luck of the Irish too!

I love Spring as well - the flowers start growing, the trees bud and all of a sudden the leaves pop open, and the dirt smells (!). I love the way you describe Spring - it's an amazing time of year.
