Okay, I'm 20 years late considering the release date of this movie but I so rarely watch movies BUT when one of my favorite bloggers said this is a great movie I decided to buy it at the thrift store for $1.00.
I didn't "get" it.
One of the pastors at my church is a real movie freak and I asked him about it. He explained. I "got" it. But I still hated it. It's a movie that starts in the middle and never explains what happened before the movie started. One can deduce that the "hero" was as much as a slime ball as those she is hunting down which doesn't make me want to cheer for her as she shows no mercy in brutally killing and dismembering a hundred or so people.
The CD jacket says "Loaded with explosive action and outrageous humor". I guess I missed the humor part... unless it was the be-headings... all the times people were cut (lots of sword fights) and bleed like human fire extinguishers... or seeing a mother assassinated in front of her 4 year old child. If you find that kind of thing humorous then yes Kill Bill is a real laugh riot.
My pastor friend says the beauty of director Quentin Tarantino in this film is that instead of a movie turning a comic into a movie he has taken a movie and turned it into a comic book.
I still don't get it.
