On March 14, 2019, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sale declined 6.9% to an annual rate of 607,000 homes in January of 2019 from 652,000 homes in December of 2018, and down 4.1% from in January of 2018 an annual rate of 633,000 homes
The median new home sold value was $317,200, while the average sales price was $373,100 in January of 2019, and there were estimated 336,000 new houses for sale and 6.6 months supplies of available inventory at the end of January of 2019.
