Murphy Brown, Magnum PI, Will & Grace...You Can Do It Too!

One of the hardest things for many bloggers is finding a topic day after day or week after week...however often you blog. Of bloggingcourse, there are listings and market reports but if you want a continued following, you’ll want to offer more informative content.

But how many times can I, a Home Stager, tell you why sellers should edit their belongings?  How many times can an agent talk about what kind of questions to ask before hiring an agent?

I suppose the answer might be As many times as it takes!

Not everyone reads your blog.

Not everyone who reads your blog reads every post you write.

Not everyone who reads your blog will remember every post you write.

For some, your post may be the first one on that topic they’ve read.

The thing is, just as television shows are reinvented...same topic, different year, different spin, different perspective...your posts can be reinvented as well.

But wait…

Don’t just copy and paste an old post you’ve written. Put today’s spin on it. Add new links, new clip art. Perhaps your own ideas on the topic have changed as well.

How to find posts to reinvent…

~Go to your Home page and scroll down to (Traffic)Stats

~There are several ways to choose a post. You can pick one that has had the most comments.*

~You can also choose a post that has had a lot of views

~Or, you can choose one that you really liked but it didn’t seem to draw a lot of views or comments.

*You can click on Comments or any of the other headings and they can be rearranged by date.

So, go ahead, give it a try. This can come in handy the next time your blogging mind hits a wall.

Myrl Jeffcoat the only reason I do is that I'm afraid if I stop, it would be too easy not to go back to posting every day. It's more of a mental exercise for me.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886 caught your eye, though!

Jason Potrzeba that's precisely it. We can only remember so much at any given time!

Hey, Kathy:  what a timely post for me.  I have been busy, burned out and wiped out, but blogging is like brushing your teeth--you have to do it every day!  I need to get back on the horse, and looking at how my old posts is a great idea.

I've revisited many topics, may times.  Why?  Because there are still people that need to "get it", so maybe THIS post will be the one that makes the phone ring one more time.

Hello Kathy - other posts sometimes call out a post of a different opinion/point of view -- maybe it starts as a comment but nothing says that is where it must end.  Reviewing older posts that you have written is a good strategy - change is definitely always a part of the picture.

Good idea about re-visited old posts, Kathy. Often my problem isn't having nothing to write about, but having too many conflicting ideas and my mind not settling on any one topic.

Morning Kathy.

I'm racking my short time memory bank, with what I write about there hasn't been much of a change.

Good idea. Revisiting and rewriting older posts can be a great thing - the business changes, thoughts change and readers change.

Good morning Kathy Streib ,

What a great post with some awesome advice! You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Look for a different spin to put on things..what better way than going back through old posts!
