Active income ideas

There are so many ways to make active income. Active income is when you exchange your time for money. People pay you money and you provide them with labor or a service.

There are so many ways to make active income that I couldn’t possibly list them all here! Instead I will list a few of the active income ideas that I think are a little unusual or different from the norm. Some people do these active income ideas as side hustles or full-time.

Here are some great active income ideas that you can use to smooth over those slow real-estate periods.

Market research participant.

When I was poor, I would take part in market research questionnaires. Companies need to have feedback from consumers, and they will pay for this information. You can sign-up for various paid survey opportunities online where you just give information and your opinion about stuff. It really is that simple!

You can check out our favorite paid survey site here (these are also some of the highest paying online surveys).

Companies will pay you to complete the surveys. However, the pay is quite bad, typically $10 per hour if you are efficient at completing the questions. Not all of the survey sites are legit, and many won’t actually pay you! So we wrote this article ‘What are some survey sites that actually pay you?’ to try and give you a few of the best survey sites that we have found.

Teaching English online

You can teach English online and help Chinese students to learn English. The pay pretty good and you can make your own hours. Several sites help you to do this (e.g. VIPKID and others). The pay is usually in the range of $20 per hour.

All you really need to get started is some kind of mentoring or teaching experience. I know several successful online entrepreneurs that got started with their freelance careers by teaching English online.

Start a freelance business

Freelance businesses are becoming ever more popular. I know people that make $600,000 a year by picking up trash in parking lots! Well that is not exactly true….they started a company that does that!

I know freelancers that write for people, proofread documents, manage online social media, do art work for bloggers and so many more jobs. I hire people to do some of these things, so I know that freelancing can be quite a lucrative occupation. The pay can be quite high, anywhere from $50 to $1000 per hour! If you have any special skills that people need, be sure to consider starting a freelance business.

Passive income ideas

I much prefer passive income ideas, probably because I am lazy! I love waking up and finding another $1,000 has magically appeared in my bank account. Here are a few ways that you can make some passive income.

  •          Rent out rooms in your house or buy a rental property
  •          Buy stocks that pay a dividend just for holding them
  •          Invest in mutual funds
  •          Purchase an offline or online business that already has cashflow
  •          Buy vending machines

There are so many ways to earn passive income that you are limited only by your imagination! If you have any good passive income ideas, let us know in the comments!
