This is a great time of year to attend local festivals and there are a couple of good ones coming up in June.

The weekend of June 8th and 9th, plan to attend the Celebrate Fairfax! at the Fairfax Government Center.  This festival is always well attended and has great headliner bands.  Some of the bands appearing this year include: OK Go, Bowling for Soup, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Emerson Drive. Another of these is the Taste of the Town.  Held at the Reston Towncenter on Saturday, June 14th, this event, which is sponsored by the Reston Chamber of Commerce, features an impressive list of restaurants.  For more information, go to: http://www.restontaste.com

Take Dad out for a fun Fathers Day weekend at the Udvar-Hazy Center and the Sully Plantation for Wings and Wheels. This event, sponsored byt The National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center and Sully Historic Site in Chantilly, VA  will be held on June 14th and 15th. More information can be found for aviation enthusiasts at:http://www.nasm.si.edu/becomeapilot/. If your dad prefers vehicles, go to: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/sully/calendar.htm

 It is always fun to go to Wolftrap Foundation for the Performing Arts, but in the summer it is also a great place to bring young children.  If you have never had a chance to to go to the Theater in the Woods, it is a fun, and affordable outing!  A link to information about this special program can be found at: http://www.wolftrap.org/Education/Childrens_Theatre-in-the-Woods.aspx
