Olympic Discovery Marathon Information

If you’re looking for the most beautiful setting for a run, the Olympic Peninsula delivers. Runners of the full marathon begin in Sequim and wind through the town to the Railroad Bridge Park. Here the trail passes through a forest and over the Dungeness River on a 780 foot trestle bridge. The landscape then opens up to the rolling farms and lavender fields of the Dungeness Valley before reaching the open water views. All make for exceptional scenery and a chance to spot eagles, shore birds and marine mammals along the way.

The 17th annual North Olympic Discovery Marathon includes a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, 5K and kids marathon. The event takes place June 1st to 2nd and registration is open now. The race is a USATF certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifier. However beginners and walkers are welcome in all the events. All races end at the city pier in Port Angeles, where participants enjoy awards, music, food and a well deserved beer garden.

Not only is the amazing scenery part of the area but the weather is ideal too.
