I recently bought a new shredder so that I could rid myself of excess paper and clear room for files I still use. Beginning with old income tax returns and supporting expenditure files I then moved to my production materials. It was bittersweet. I remembered the transactions the people, the properties and lastly I was taken by the money I used to make. Since I moved to Massachusetts from New Jersey I haven't really given much thought about anything except the day to day of my real estate career. Funny how this process triggered so many memories.
In so many ways I have never left the career, in so many others it was a million years ago. I have a new and very different life now. I do things for little or no money and for the most part completely control my day to day. I wouldn't change things but I have thought more in the last day about my real estate life than I have in years.
Shredders are tools that sometimes bring things into focus, sometimes not. Today I will try and work in my yard.
