I'm back with another installment of cool places to live in Jupiter. I specialize in the Abacoa area in Jupiter and I'm highlighting the Greenwich area this week.
Greenwich Abacoa, Jupiter Florida is a mix of condos and townhomes incorporated and zoned in a commercial mix of upscale retail, professional and medical businesses. Greenwich residents always have a great variety of restaurants, shops and medical facilities to choose from. Abacoa is the pinnacle community of Jupiter with its' progressive blend of condos, townhomes and single family homes, graced by a fantastic school district and world class beaches. If you haven't figured out that Jupiter has a ton of events and activities going on year 'round, well I'll fill you in on a few.
How can you go wrong with fishing tournaments, chilli cook-offs or an Art Festival by the beach? Carlin Park hosts a wide array of live concerts and Town Center Abacoa hosts a gamut of cool monthly events. From the Friday night Food Truck Invasion, antique car shows and Thursday night bike night hosted by Palm Beach Harley Davidson. Yearly events include Artigras, featuring a juried art show, local artisians and live entertainment and Feast of Little Italy with games and rides for the kids, food, drinks and vendors.
Steps outside your door open up a world of great dining options. Carmines Coal Fire Grill specializes in Italian cuisine, coal fired pizza and one of my favorite happy hours in the area. $5 appetizer specials and 2-4-1 well drinks are available at the bar before 6pm and after 9pm. Eggplant rollatini, flat bread pizzas, etc. are all highly recommended. Little Moir's Leftovers Cafe is another top choice Greenwich foodie thumbs up of mine. Leftovers speciality encrusted fresh fish, creative appetizers, and amazing deserts will have you coming back time and time again. Another great spot is Suzie Q's Dinner with a wide array of breakfast and lunch specialties. Decked out in 50's era decor, you'll slip back in time as you order delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch plates.
Greenwich is minutes from Abacoa Town Center. Located west on University Drive, Roger Dean Stadium hosts baseball games year 'round and is home to the Miami Marlin's and St. Louis Cardinals spring training. The Jupiter Hammerheads play ball the remainder of the year and season ticket packages are available for purchase at the box office. A variety of restaurants dot the streets of Town Center. Ranging from the Hokkaido hibachi grill, burger bars, breweries, fine dining, tropical and German themed bar and grills. Shops, bakeries, boutiques, retail and businesses are intertwined with in the hub of Abacoa. FAU Honors College, Scripps research, Abacoa Amphitheatre, Mini Golf and the Abacoa Golf Club surround the social epicenter of Main Street.
A short 15 minute drive from Greenwich, south on Military Trail and east on Donald Ross Road will land you at one of the most incredible beaches on the eastern seaboard. The Juno Pier juts towards the horizon just north of the beach road and Donald Ross intersection. Free parking for miles and a generous bike path that runs north to the Jupiter inlet invite droves of sun worshipers on a daily basis. If you're more adventurous, keep pedaling north and as you cross over the Jupiter Inlet bridge on US Highway 1 you'll see the Jupiter lighthouse on the horizon. Take a right at the traffic light at the base and follow the road to Blowing Rocks Park. The speed limit is well patrolled at 35mph, and the route offers some spectacular scenery from sprawling oceanfront mansions to intracoastal views.
