Quotes about the first or being the first can be memorable.  Encouraging.  Motivating.  Reaching and maintaining Number One is admirable afterall.  Right?

 

Does that change when the subject is "the second"?  Second Chances. Second Hand Selection.  A second choice.  Is there a second spouse stigma?  Doesn't experience tell us that we now know better and perhaps know more in any situation the second time? 

 

So on this second day of April.  I say let's celebrate it and all that being second can mean.  I mean it isn't all about being number one.

Brian England - two very good examples of "seconds" that come in "first" for you.  Personally, I have done better when second chances occur rather than taking a second helping.

I just want to be in the top. I was second in ranking at my previous broker and that was just fine. I remember the days that I was #886.

Trouble with being #1 is everybody expects you to be a role model. Also, I think of an old friend Dick Roby who had one hit record in his life, "Liar, Liar, your pants are on fire," and never, no matter how many times he tried, and is probably still trying to this day, he will never have a #1 hit song again. On the other side, I've never had a hit song, LOL.

I think the difference is you need to try. When I first started yoga, I could not touch the floor. Now I can place both palms flat on the floor without bending knees.
