This Week...The Masters

My only experience with golf was a semester at the University of Houston. At best I was awful. However, as in all sports, there are lessons to be learned.

Focus on remedies, not faults. Jack Nicklaus

Since my one and only experience in college, I have set foot only twice on a golf course...once to drive a golf cart for a charity tournament and to have a moonlight yoga class.

The most rewarding things you do in life are often the ones that look like they cannot be done. Arnold Palmer

I had hoped to show fields of bluebonnets this week after our trip to Waco, TX. I did see small patches of them but not what I was hoping for.

vultures

We saw these vultures on one of our walks. Not sure who or what they were after but we did our best to look alive.

Winning is not always the barometer of getting better. Tiger Woods

These aren’t my beloved Texas Bluebonnets but I did see these on another of our morning walks.

There is no such thing as a natural touch. Touch is something you create by hitting millions of golf balls. Lee Trevino

Hi Kathy - similar story for me.  I played once in my very early career and I was terrible.  And then my HR department ran the annual golf charity outing at the restaurant company.  Fortunately, I have people.

I quite the sport after many years and after almost killing a bird in the air with a golf ball. Some sports you just have to walk away from. The birds are now safe.

Good morning Kathy. I have not played in years. Then again, most did not think much of my game when I did. Never killed a bird, but like Donald Urschalitz knew it was time to give it up! Enjoy your day.

Kathy,

Ron used to play.  One day, he decided he did not like it, and that was that.  I was not interested. Ocasionally he likes watching at the end of the tournament and admires those who do it so well.  A

Good morning Kathy Streib,

My dad was a golfer and I loved playing with him. Geno and I use to play golf but I found 9 holes was my max limit..18 holes just took too much time and as busy as we were we just couldn't spend that much time on the golf course. We loved to travel and wanted to spend our time exploring the world.

The Masters - Mom's been watching it...:) Of course. She doesn't play but says if she had to do it all over again, she would learn to play goft.

As for your post, love the photos and your thoughts. The vulture comment made me laugh - always best to "look alive" around those critters. Lol.

Hi Kathy - most of my "golf" experience has been on the miniature course where my success was equally sized. As for your quotes, all were good but the words of Tiger Woods especially resonate with me today.

I have watched folks play golf on television.  I've tried to figure out what the attraction was.  After all, you hit the dang ball, and even once you pick it up, you set it down again.  Heck, have you ever tried to peel one of those things.  It takes a hacksaw.  And, that long stringy stuff inside isn't very tasty, even with a good marinara sauce!

Many years ago...high school to be exact...a boyfriend tried to teach me to golf. It wasn't pretty and since then my only experience has been riding around in a golf cart when I visit my parents in Florida. LOL
