Here we are again. It's the fifteenth of April, also known as "Tax Day".
If you're like me, you have money to pay. If you're also like me, you don't like to send the 
money in for the government any sooner than abso-freakin-lootely necessary.
So, while my envelopes have been prepared for weeks, they are sitting on my hall table ready to be mailed in today.
I could really make a lot of money if it weren't for taxes.

Alan May , I have filed timely two years in a row which I am SUPER stoked about, but I too prefer to wait until the last minute to pay.
no reason they should have my money any sooner than required by law.
Good morning, Alan May I paid mine last month after my cpa e-filed it.... taxes would be on my mind, if I hadn't paid it when I did.... clean the slate!!
They do weigh on my mind... but knowing I have the checks written, and sitting in an envelope by the front door helps.

To each their own and do what works for you. I paid last week so I didn't have it on my plate..considering what I have on my schedule today.... I'm sooo glad I have my taxes behind me! My C-pa e-filed electronically last week too..all done! On to 2019!
All I had to do, today, is get it postmarket today.
How has it changed?
I carried on my tradition, another extension filed and eventually I'll get to getting the taxes ready enough to give the CPAs and then find out my "penalty" for making money in real estate.
I know colleagues who file extensions routinely... but then I'd be chewing my fingernails for the balance of the year...
I'd rather get it over with.
All I can say is this is definitely not my favorite day of the year....by a long shot.

I did my taxes really early this year! I worried how the new tax laws would affect me, but the outcome seemed little different than last year!
I didn't see any significant difference in the bottom line, either.
Alan- I'm with you. I can remember the first time I did my return and had to write a check. My hand was shaking.
... and then you see the government (and no, I'm not just talking about our current administration) wasting our money on frivolous, or ruinous things.
