I'm reading this story about Ed McMahon facing foreclosure!  Talk about a surprise.  I've watched him on tv for years.  Hes $644,000 behind on his $4.8 Million dollar mortgage from Countrywide.  It just blows my mind that someone with so much money could ever be facing foreclosure.  I've paid my house off in full years ago along with my car.  So I have no debt.  I'm not a movie star with millions of dollars.  Why can't people manage their money?  It just blows my mind.

I can't help but think there's more to it. Maybe a divorce settlement gone bad? Poor business manager or accountant?

Hi Michael...thanks for sharing--I too, have no debt--thank God!  and feel very badly for people who don't know how to manage their money--sometimes when you have so much money you depend on someone else to manage it for you--that is unfortunate, becaseu when you leave your Money-management to other peopel----they will never manage it as well as you!  I learn that the hard way!

Living in a 5 million dollar house will get you in debt real quick if you don't have lots of income.  Maybe he is upside down and he is about to walk away.  Interesting.

I read in a newspaper yesterday that Ed's also had some health issues that have not allowed him to work for months, I'm thinking maybe just as long as his house has been listed.

A good example of why people should live within their means.
