Think Thin Thursday ~ What I Learned from My Cat about Working Out
good basics here from Kevin.... do you think he has a "fat cat".....
Throughout the whole Think Thin series the general theme is that we must all exercise in order to enjoy a healthier, longer life. We must fuel ourselves with nutrient rich fruits and vegetables and be sure we get enough protein in our diets. We have Paleo diets, Vegan diets, Vegetarian diets, Keto, Atkins and probably hundreds more. I cannot say that one is better than the other because each does for the body what that consumer desires apparently. Eating is a part of life we can't do without, water is also an essential for proper body function.
When it comes to exercise, there are also several avenues we can take, swim, bike, run, weights, aerobics, yoga you name it they all benefit our well being. When I observe people today in their daily routines the one thing they mostly have problems with is finding TIME. This is not only for exercise but everything that consumes our daily lives. Work, the kids, laundry, cooking meals, elderly parents,, car repairs, AC not working, a too tight budget, they're stressed. Filled with stress and the best way to rid yourself of it is through exercise. By the way some people even stress about not getting their workouts in, seriously.
Theories abound that say you need 30 minute minimums, an hour, maybe 20 minutes of dedicated exercise to obtain any REAL benefit. Studies now are showing that even one minute of modestly intense exercise several times a day has as much and possibly more advantages than its continuous counterpart. You know what it's called The Cumulative Effect. You've heard the story about saving pennies where you begin at day one saving just one, doubling it each day to 2, then 4 then 8 so on and so forth though 30 days. The Cumulative Effect will net you somewhere in the vicinity of $6,000,000. Now, you don't have to double your efforts like that when it comes to exercise but do know that even with our limited "FREE" time you can accomplish huge benefits for yourself taking advantage of very minor changes of how you go about your day. Park a block or two further from the office, take the stairs instead of an elevator, ditch that bagel & cream cheese for a grapefruit and before you can say it VOILA' there's a new peppier YOU, not peppery but PEPPIER!
About the Cat, you never really learn anything
from them but they are fun to watch!
