Motivational Monday...At Any Given Moment
We had so much fun yesterday for Easter. It was our first time to host our family since our move back to Houston and to spend Easter with our family.
The most fun was the Easter egg hunt because we had 5 children ranging in age from 18 months to 11 and of course the older kids had fun finding fun hiding places.
But, at any given moment...things can go awry.
Such was the case in the egg hiding process. I felt that perhaps great creativity was being used by the older kids when I saw someone walk out of the garage with a yardstick.
However 2 minutes later, my niece came in and asked me for tongs.
Tongs?!
It seems that in an effort to find a creative hiding place, someone (not throwing anyone under the bus here) placed an egg in the tailpipe of one of the cars but it rolled too far in.
OOPS!
The two young people tried but the egg was stuck. They then did the next best thing...they picked the grownup who they felt would not blow up or get mad at them.
And that person was Larry. The egg was not moving! After some nudging with the yardstick, Larry started the car and the exhaust blew it out.
These are the moments that make life memorable, that make you smile, and that make you glad that you were there.
Life is intrinsically, well, boring and dangerous at the same time. At any given moment the floor may open up. Of course, it almost never does; that's what makes it so boring. Edward Gorey
