Wordless Wednesday - Nature & Color Therapy

Did you know that viewing scenes of nature can help to reduce anxiety, stress and even anger ? When you cannot get out in nature, you can easily reap some of the same benefits just by looking at nature photos. Not only do nature scenes help with the anxiety, stress and anger as I mentioned, but studies have also shown that nature scenes can also reduce blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and even stress hormones.

Some might even say that specific colors that are found in nature scenes create a positive response emotionally and physically as well. Color helps to heal, energize and soothe us. It instills a sense of peace and calm over us, uplifts us, energizes and it improves focus, awareness and even concentration.

You can benefit from both colors and nature by taking brisk walks or if you are not able to get outside, hanging photos or artwork of nature will create the same positive responses. Not to mention they are great pieces to decorate both homes and offices.

Hi Kat- - -being closer to nature and more in 'sync'  with it makes sense in creating a better life. I am sure Lake Arrowhead, CA offers much in the way of positive vibes.

What a pretty picture, Kat. Being the ultimate concrete jungle, city girl I can't say I ever look to nature to destress. I enjoy it when I see it... but it's not something I crave.

I would understand how nature would be a bit more difficult in a major city!

Pretty flowers. I do enjoy a nature view. Very much calms the mind after a long day.
