It is an annual event....the Postal Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. If you don't get a plastic bag to attach to your mailbox this week...you can certainly use one of your own. It has been our tradition,(it always seems to rain on that day), to put out lawn chairs with plastic bags full of donations. The non perishable items needed include food of all kinds...from baby food to canned pasta with meat, canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, rice, soups, tuna, beans and packaged entrees, etc. We also include some fruit drinks and freezer-ready popscicles...being hungry doesn't mean you can't have some fun too !
This drive is the largest single food drive in the country conducted in 10,000 cities. The food collected is distributed to local food pantries. IF your city is not one of them....Be a good scout and make a contribution to your local food pantry. Most pantries depend on local volunteers...call ahead to learn what days donations are accepted.
We believe...charity begins at home. This week when you do your shopping...do some for another family who is unable to do it for themselves at this particular time.
Fill a Bag...Feed a Family...Feel Good about Giving Back.
This has been a socially conscious charitable post brought to you by Sally K. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with EXP Realty, honored to be of service in southeastern Wisconsin for all things real estate.
