Our classic New England Colonial is the perfect size to start a family, as we did. When we first set foot in the expansive family room with morning sunlight streaming through the walls of windows and gazed onto the serene landscape, equal parts open space and woods, we knew we had come home.
In the Spring, a relaxing weekend in our home is gazing out the open windows at the dogwoods, bluebells, peonies in bloom, breathing in the sweet scent of lilacs and watching the bluebirds build a nest in their box out back. In Summer it’s choosing a book from our built in shelves to read, coffee in hand, listening to the myriad songbirds happily flitting about in our trees, then taking lunch on the patio enjoying the blossoms on the clematis, the viburnum and glorious display of the blossoms on the aptly-named beauty bush. Autumn brings with it our very own “Fall Foliage Tour” from the comfort of our living room, the shimmering golden leaves of our Japanese maple, the auburns of our dogwood trees, sitting cozy by the fire sipping a glass of red while the occasional and welcome wild turkey, red fox, deer gently pays a visit outside. In Winter, as snowflakes carpet the landscape in majestic white velvet & snowbirds hop and scratch, we sled down the hill in our side yard, make snow angels and build snowmen, then warm ourselves by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa.
And for those who haven't experienced it for themselves, Wilton is a small friendly town where we all greet each other with a smile.
We are close enough to New York City to keep your Roundabout theater subscription, yet a world away with all the charm of a Norman Rockwell painting.
The picturesque gazebo in the town square hosts an abundance of events throughout the year. All the businesses downtown stay open to offer visitors seasonal refreshments for The Holiday Stroll complete with caroling, tree lighting and Santa. The 4th of July and Halloween are also favorites. Ambler Farm is one of this town’s great treasures - hay rides, organic produce, camp apprentice programs for kids, daytime family events, as well as gourmet dinner and dancing evenings just for us grown ups. Our town library is also a gem offering free activities, music, food and, of course, books to all Wiltonians from the youngest to the oldest. "
