After being in the business a little over four years, I have done a little of everything, from property management to apartment locating. Even with foreclosures on the rise, the business continues to grow. I work with many landlords with rental properties. Some are considering selling because most of them have been doing this for over 20 years and are looking to get out of the business and retiring. Great time to buy if you know anyone interested in purchasing rental properties.
Houston is a great place to get into real estate these days with this rollercoaster housing market. The market is still strong here and I don't see any letting down. We are still growing and rebuilding. If you look around the area, you will see construction everywhere you go. Along the I-10/ Katy freeway a tremendous amount construction is going on mostly commercial properties near Gessner. How does the affect the residential market? Jobs, relocation, increase in property values. In turn, there will be more homes for sale and growth. Downtown Houston is no different, Lofts and three story townhouses are springing up all throughout midtown and what was once considered "The Wards". There are many great opportunities for investments here. "If you build it they will come". And they are.
The properties values in Houston are considerably lower the any other major city. You can get a very nice house with land for less money than places like California, Florida and New York. Houston is a wonderful city with lots to do. We have great professional sports teams and entertainment. There are major churches, many wonderful restaurants and friendly people to meet.
