Wordless Wednesday… Before and After
One of our walking places has a large retention area built to handle any flooding that might (will) occur. It gets a lot of use from soccer players, dogs, RC planes and their owners, and anyone else wanted to use the large open area.
But after the heavy rains from last week, that area also became a wetland for some of our area birds. We’ve missed seeing that from our walks at Green Cay Wetlands in Boynton Beach.

It reminds me of some of the areas in Phoenix where the runoff from monsoon can make golf courses and parks into lakes!

It can be amazing how different landscape can appear after little changes in weather patterns. Sacramento had an elongated winter, but within a week of sunshine and warmer temps, the flowers exploded.

Hi Lise Howe I think the rain we had here in Houston last week headed east to Florida.

We have a pond across the street from us. It is full to overflowing. More rain in the forecast for Saturday
It sure does feel like the rain will never fully go away here. Every time we have taken the camper out, we get rain.
Kathy it looks like that retention area severs a wide range of valuable uses.
