Speechless Sunday - This Girl is Resilient!

Wayne Martin, you clearly have an understanding of the feline persuasion's persnickety ways! LOL Seriously, she is an unusual cat and I have never seen one so easily adaptable. Perhaps that's why she's lived so long! 

Every time I take her in, the first thing I want to know is how much she weighs! Funny but, she is the only instance that I can recall praying for weight gain! LOL

Hi Grant Schneider! Thank you! I'm so lucky to have her. She has brought us so much joy over the years. 

We had a little Shih tzu that had renal failure and his last years were tough. Some respond to the meds and the specialty foods, others don't. It's heartbreaking when they don't, for sure! And, thank you - we think we're the lucky ones, Amanda S. Davidson!

I surely do hope you're right about the longevity, Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP. She is such an unusual cat and I can't imagine ever being lucky enough to ever find another one that steals my heart the way she does!

I had never seen them check her blood pressure before either - it was definitely different than I thought it would be. The cute little cuff is only about an inch wide!

I can't imagine giving cats injections - that would HAVE to be tough! I used to be a nurse and don't know if I could do that! How lucky were all of your friends who had ailing pets, having you to care for them when they were traveling. You are definitely a rare find - most people shy away from helping with pets when there is anything out of the norm for them to do. Many kudos to you!

Thank you, Michael Jacobs! I learned a new bit of trivia when I took her in - 80% of felines will have some level of kidney failure. After I left, I began to wonder if you should start your new kitten/cat out on a renal diet to avoid that down the road. I'm definitely going to ask the vet that the next time I'm there - inquiring minds want to know!

Sadly, you're right, George Souto - I'm just hoping this is a 'mid-life' issue for Charlotte!
