Inspiration for 5/20/19

"Great things are a series of small things brought together."
---Vincent Van Gogh
I must have passed by a dozen or more of what appears to me to be cattails growing individually or in pairs but when I saw this large assortment together as a whole, they seemed to poke my imagination and remind me just how good and great they look when brought together to flourish with the diversity of other plants planted in between. Suddenly, I took notice of the bigger picture or finer things in life and it was the small things that really made me consciously aware of this life phenomenon. ---Patricia Feager
"It is not the language of painters but the language of nature
which one should listen to, the feeling for the things themselves,
for the reality is more important than the feeling for pictures."
---Vincent Van Gogh
I have no idea how many people walked by this bench with the vibrant pink petals at its legs or if anyone else noticed but it took my breath away and there I stood on the path, resting in awe at all its beauty. I had no desire to sit. For me seeing was believing that the best way to improve health and general well-being is to exercise our eyes and when they are drawn to something beautiful it is better to stay awhile, be in the moment, focus on all what is really right in front of you. Sitting down to rest pounds of flesh and bones is not an option --- Patricia Feager
"What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?
---Vincent Van Gogh
Here I paused again. What are the greatest acts one can do to achieve the biggest results? Before long, there were more philosophical thoughts floating around in my head. If every day we spent more time to acquire deeper knowledge and understanding of our natural world than perhaps the real world wouldn't be so hard. Life is a series of growth and opportunities but most important is to discover the courage within. ---Patricia Feager
