Last year I was a PE teacher, football coach, wrestling coach, and basketball coach at a junior high and working out every day with the kids, running, lifting weights, and playing games. In June '07, I left my teaching career of 13 years for a career in real estate.
Now I notice a change in my ....uh, figure.... let's just say I'm not as fit as I used to be. It's time for that to change. I hear the best way to make a goal is to write it down and announce it to the world. So, here it goes:

My goal is to run a minimum of 3 days a week for at least 20 minutes a run.
It seems I start every week with full intentions of carrying out this routine, but like a New Year's Resolution it gets buried quickly. You know how emails, appointments, client fires, work, and family obligations cause you to lose focus on treating your body right?
NO MORE - I say! Who would like to join me in the Active Rain Running Challenge? The more the merrier!
Just comment - I commit to running 3 days a week for 20 minutes a time, then blog your run, share how you feel or just be darn happy with yourself cause you are adding years to your life.
Let's do it!
I'm in...I left teaching and coaching 5 years ago for real estate. 5 years and 30 pounds ago...YIKES. I started my jogging routine about 2 months ago and have dropped 6 of those 30 pounds, but need to drop at least another 20.
I've got an 8 month old daughter now, and the thought of not being able to join her in athletics or even worse not being around for her 'cause I still have my love of sweets but don't exercise is a bummer.
I'll continue to run 3 days, at least 20 min.
Thanks for the prod.
