It is that time again!!! 30 Songs in 30 days.

Like so many other baby boomers, I grew up listening to Rock & Roll. From the mid-1950s right on up to the present day, Rock has endured. Even when we think the genre has run its course a new record or album surfaces that brings us back into the fold.

In June of 2018, I launched an effort to share 30 songs in 30 days. I called it The Soundtrack of a Lifetime. Listening to the songs was so much fun I decided to reprise The Soundtrack for 2019. The Soundtrack is compiled of music, songs, and videos, from artists that I have enjoyed over the years.

So here goes, Day 1 of The Soundtrack of a Lifetime – 2019 Edition

One of the most enduring rockers is Eric Clapton. From his early days as a teenage phenomenon with the band Cream, Clapton has kept us rocking. Yet, if you were to interview Mr. Clapton he would kindly remind you he is first and foremost a Blues guitarist.

Now in his mid-seventies, Clapton continues to pump out great music. For 2019 he is touring select cities in Europe and will hit a few U.S. cities later in 2019.

Today’s song from the Soundtrack is "I've Got a Rock 'n' Roll Heart". It was released in 1983 on his album Money and Cigarettes and also released as a single that same year. Funny, but even though it is 36 years old, it still sounds great today.

If you are like me, you have a Rock & Roll Heart.

Good morning Joseph. I never really got beyond the mid-50's to mid 60's, so I am going to enjoy your series. Enjoy your day!

We must be of the same generation, Joseph.  My family didn't get a television in our home until 1957.  I still remember going with my mom and dad to a neighbor's house on Sunday nights to watch Ed Sullivan when Elvis first came on the scene.  I still smile at memories of the shock on my ultra religious neighbor's faces when Elvis gyrated his hips.  I thought they would have a stroke!
